Freshers Orientation

The orientation for the incoming batch of UG students starts with the Director, Dean of Student Affairs and Dean of Academics addressing the students and parents in the Dogra Hall. It is followed by a briefing from the Student Counsellors and the Security Head.

About the event

Director's Address

The Director of IITD welcomes all the parents and students and talks about the culture and legacy of our college. He is followed by the other Deans who addresses the key elements and working of our institute.

Department Orientation

Every Department organizes a session for the freshers in their department wherein the HoD along with some other professors talk about various aspects of their department including the course content, research facilities, future opportunities. This gives the students a glimpse of their forthcoming academic journey.

Session with Mentors

This is an informative session with the student mentors where they inform about all the academic details like calculating CGPA, Courses of Study, DepC etc. The mentors also guide them through the institute's rules and regulations along with some major policies.

Evening Games

As the name suggests, this event is organized every year to acquaint the freshers with the fun side of their college, who have only went through all the rigorous paperwork and formal sessions till this event. The freshers engage in some fun activities and exciting games in groups in the evening. They also get acquainted with some of their new batchmates through this event.

Registration

The members of BSW along with the UG Section ensure that the registration process for every student goes smoothly. They help the students who face any problems with the paperwork and guide them through every stage of the process. After the registration, every student officialy becomes a part of the IIT Delhi fraternity.

Tour of Stalls

This is a preliminary Orientation from every club and student board inside IIT. The freshers get a glimpse of everything that goes on in the various clubs by visiting the stall of every club, where they are attended by the representatives from these clubs. The Tour of Stalls every year is followed by a play specially made for the freshers by the Dramatics Society of IITD - Ankahi.
